10th ANNIVERSARY SCREENING OF FAN-FILM "HALLOWEEN 1999: EVIL'S REIGN"

The 7th St. Community Theatre in Chino, CA will be presenting a special 10th Anniversary screening of a slightly re-mastered version of the fan-film "HALLOWEEN 1999: Evil's Reign."

Present at the event will be both Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees to take photos and welcome guests, displays, and possibly a costume contest.

The film takes place in its own alternate timeline and is a direct continuation to the events in 1989's "HALLOWEEN 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers."  The film was screened at the "Halloween Returns to Haddonfield" 25th Anniversary Convention in Pasadena back in October of 2003.  It is also the first fan-film to have scenes shot in the same locations as the original films in the series.  Among the ensemble cast are veterans of the 7th St. Theatre stage.

The screening will be held on Friday, November 1st, at 10:00pm.  Admission is free.  The address is: 13123 Seventh Street, Chino, CA 91710  (909) 590-1149

YOU CAN'T GET MORE AMERICAN THAN THIS

Continuing the mindset of Superman's 75th birthday at the end of June in the public consciousness,  the annual 4th of July parade in Newhall, CA was a fitting end.

For Newhall's 4th of July Parade, a good portion of our cast of "Les Miserables" were in the parade as Superheroes, with Capt. American (Colin America) and I as Supes, escorting the gang. Others included Wonder Woman (Tyler Joy Bannerman), Cyclops (Wyland Kirkwood), Spiderman (Joey Langford), and Judge Dredd (Marcus Langston).  The marching band was walking past us, on our way to our float, and the trumpet player started playing the "Superman" John Williams theme. We looked pretty epic as a breeze was blowing through mine & Supergirl's capes (Samantha Jade Dominguez) while we're walking down treelined streets. But the sight of Capt. American & Supes walking past old houses w/ white picket fences, in small town America, and a child waving to us sitting next to her mom who was wearing camel military fatigue. That some Norman Rockwell stuff right there! All this concluding with bringing the all American apple pie to a friend's house for an evening of fireworks.  AMERICA!

"SUPERHERO" SATURDAY EVENT @ VICTORIA GARDNES LIBRARY, SUCCESS!

Coinciding with Superman's 75th Birthday, June 29 also marked the Paul A. Biane Library's annual children's event "SuperHero Saturday."  The event was located at the Library's Storybook Theatre, made to look like the entrance of the fortress of Solitude, where yours truly, read to the kids, the origin of Superman etc. (pictured above).  The Riddler (Jack Roberts) was there on hand, keeping children entertained, with riddles of his own, while Poison Ivy (Sami Lopez) was present, snickering at Superman during a Q & A conducted by fiesty cub reporter Lois Lane.  The occassion was presented by event coordinator/library staff member Allen Callaci and his group of volunteers.

The event was a success.  Following the Q & A, the kids sang "Happy Birthday" to me and I got a birthday cupcake from Lois Lane herself.   Following the birthday ceremonies, a lined had formed with kids, and their families, to take photos with Supes.  I also found out that the author of the book I read to the kids is from ARGENTINA! I had a mother of two autistic children quietly tell me, "they did a good job picking you." But, the 2nd kid that asks me if I can fly, I'm just gonna show them my pilot's license, if/when I get it.

Subsequent to this, a representative from the local comic store FOUR COLORS, was there drawing sketches and overseeing comic related arts and crafts for the children.
